The treatment abandonment rate is less than 1%, thanks to the comprehensive program delivered by AYUVI / UNOP that allows to provide - WITHOUT COST FOR PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES - medical care, hospitalization, medications and food; next to supplementary food, transportation allowance, and shelter accommodation; to support families to cope with the disease. The alliance also provides palliative care if necessary.
As of August 2019, 8,814 children have been treated, 6,912 of whom have been detected cancer and 3,002 are free of the disease.
